The Tulcea Institute of Eco-Museum Research, has 4 museums subordinated: Danube Delta Ecotourism Museum Center, Museum of History and Archaeology, Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art and the Museum of Fine Arts.
Danube Delta Ecotourism Museum Center
The center comprises a permanent exhibition which mainly shows elements specific to the actual natural patrimony of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, a public aquarium and various temporary exhibitions. A scenery, which is an exact reproduction of the specific habitats for the Danube Delta and Razim-Sinoe Lagoon Complex allows the discovery of the high biodiversity.
Museum of History and Archaeology
A permanent concern of the Museum of History and Archaeology was the constitution of a rich and valuable archaeological patrimony. This objective led to the initiation of a research program which developed in a remarkable way on the entire territory of the Northern Dobrudja - one of the most important archaeological zones in Romania.
Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art
The museum patrimony reflects, through the diversity of its collections, a unique cultural model which has been generated by the ethnical living together of Romanians with the other populations. The approximately 8000 pieces compose an invaluable ethnographic fund ’readable’ in the frame of the folk art, folk costume, ethnography and photo-documents collections.
Museum of Fine Arts
Hosted in a beautiful building - monument of the cultural patrimony, built in the neoclassical style, the Museum of Fine Arts Tulcea owns collections of paintings, sculpture, icons, graphics, decorative and oriental art, etching plates.

Items displayed in the museum are impressing through the variety of both the raw materials and shapes as well as through the finesse of the execution.
Fine Arts
The permanent painting exhibition shows 932 works, paintings of the artists: Teodor Aman, Nicolae Grigorescu, Theodor Pallady, Nicolae Tonitza, Francisc Sirato, Camil Ressu and others.
Ethnography and Folk Art
The carpets collection, containing 172 pieces has a special documentary and artistic value.
